Block Party is a community app. That puts Events, clubs, activities, news, and civics in one app. We source from 150+ places — the city, businesses, schools, social media, and news outlets, plus posts from users — then curate a feed built around you. There’s always a lot going on, but it’s scattered across so many sources. Block Party bridges that gap.

Estimated 200+ events a month in St. Joseph alone

Downtown St. Joseph, Minnesota from the air: the abbey church and its green copper dome at the centre, low brick storefronts and parking lots along the streets around it, and trees running out to the horizon.

Hey, I’m Jesse  👋

I’m a high schooler at ROCORI, and I’ve lived in St. Joe my entire life. I’ve worked at Krewe and volunteered at the Co-op, and I’m passionate about serving and building the community culture St. Joe has.

Jesse, crouched on a dock with one hand in the water, a wooded lakeshore behind him.

Block Party creates a new way to find out about your town. More than 250 things happen in any given month in St. Joe — think game nights, run clubs, and family events — and the average resident is informed about almost none of them. This isn’t a lack of information; it’s a lack of informing. Block Party solves that while making sure the information you get is the information you’re interested in.

Right now I’m building the main functions of the app and interested in public opinion, so I’m collecting feedback. There’s a Google Form linked on the website, and every response helps. I’m anticipating an early spring 2027 launch on the App Store!

Thanks in advance!Jesse Johnson

The form on a phone: a name, how you are connected to St. Joseph, an age range, and checkboxes for how you hear about things and what you want to be kept informed on.

Be the first to know.

Block Party’s main features will be available to everyone at no cost. There will also be a paid version, which I’m still working on, priced about the same as a Costco food court item ($2–$5).
